Brooklyn is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Brooklyn follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Great price! The gyro was part of the lunch special and the price was wonderful! If I’m not mistaken it was 12.50! Great price, for great food! As an appetizer me and my group shared the three different dips and it was very good, the tzatziki was my favorite! They have a nice outdoor back area with fans and it has some nice natural light!

My family of 5 came to Yia Yia for dinner this evening and it was nothing short of perfection. The salads, spreads, fish, meat, even the dessert was spot on. The service is spectacular and the kitchen definitely puts heart and soul into each dish. The lamb chops were cooked well-done as they are thin and very easy to cook through quickly but the seasoning made up for it. We ordered a Bronzino which was cooked perfectly and seasoned to perfection and my little one had the whole snapper all to herself and nothing but bones were left behind. We ordered: Melitzanosalata and Tirokafteri- These were delicious dips. Artichoke stew that was a true testament to their authenticity and homey goodness. Greek Salad- delicious, refreshing and a must have. Lamb Chops Lamb Gyro Chicken Gyro Branzino grilled Red Snapper grilled Dessert- must have Baklava, Galaktoboureko and Loukoumades. A must visit and truly a gem to have in the community. The staff accommodated my family as a walk in and was attentive to all our needs. Will absolutely be back to try everything else on their menu.

Growing up in Greektown, Chicago, Greek food was never just food to me—it was family, tradition, identity, and home. My father and his brothers proudly operated Diana’s Opaa for 35 years, so those flavors, aromas, and long afternoons around the table are woven into who I am. During Covid, I discovered Yia Yia’s Taverna and had the pleasure of meeting the owner. From my very first visit, the warmth, hospitality, and authenticity brought me right back to my roots. Every chance I got, I ordered—because it felt like more than a meal, it felt like a return. Yesterday, I brought my baby and my partner there for Greek Easter, and as we Greeks do best, we stayed for hours—eating, talking, remembering, and simply being together. All afternoon we ordered one beautiful dish after another: octopus, salad, saganaki, moussaka, gyros, calamari, my favorite galaktoboureko, and of course Greek coffee. For a moment, I was no longer in the city—I was back in Greece, sitting in the Plaka or on Kolokotroni Square, surrounded by my thios and thias, wrapped in the feeling of family, laughter, and love. Some places don’t just serve food—they bring you home. I go for the food but stay for their lemon p

I went here for date night and it was a great experience. 10/10 would recommend, the food was great, the service was welcoming and the music was fire. The staff was attentive and went above and beyond when they noticed my boyfriend was not a fan of the galaktoboureko, as he tried it for the first time. His review is not valid bc he’s a picky eater lol. But they came over and handed him a different dessert to try which definitely hit the spot for him. Definitely coming back when in the area!!

For 5 years now, I’ve willingly have traveled over an hour to dine at Yia Yia’s and it still remains as the best Greek culinary experience in all of NYC. As someone who travels back and forth to Greece, I know my Greek food and this is one of the best there is. Not only is the food amazing, the service here is unlike anything you’ll experience elsewhere. The warm and caring hospitality from the owners and staff is truly exceptional, making every visit feel like home. From the perfectly grilled octopus to the hearty chicken souvlaki platter and the comforting moussaka, each dish is fantastic. This place is one of my favorite eateries in all of NYC because they have it all - food, drink and service, which keeps me coming back, again and again. Trust me, make the trip. You won't regret it. Must try: Home Made Sangria, Grilled Octopus, Afelia, Chicken Souvlaki Platter, Moussaka
